GIBB, Marian
As Marian Steel, she was born at Hampstead, London in 1961, daughter of David W. Steel and his wife Irene M. née Bates, who married at Hampstead in 1954. Marian married at Havering, Essex in 1981, Martin Randall Gibb (born February 1962) and paints as Marian Gibb. Marian paints 'en plein air', feeling the atmosphere and observing the texture, colour, and lighting of the scene, which she then completes back in her studio, sometimes working from photographs for the final details. Her art studio is in her attic at Osbornes Farm, School Road, just outside Bungay, Suffolk. She exhibits with the Black Dog Arts Group and as well as original art has both giclée prints and greeting cards on sale on her website.
