NEALE, William George Walter

1910 - 1985

William George Walter Neale was born at 33 Eastward Ho, Leiston, Suffolk on 28 June 1910, son of George Walter Neale (13 September 1880-10 January 1952), an engineer's pattern maker, later an insurance agent and his wife Ida Bell née Prior (27 August 1881-1940), who married at Blything, Suffolk in 1904, William was a brother to Leonard Albert Neale. In 1911, William was a 1-year-old, living at 33 Eastward Ho, Leiston with his parents, 30-year-old George and 29-year-old Ida, with sibling sister 4-year-old Beryl Vivien and George's brother 19-year-old Albert Edward Neale, born Marham, Norfolk. He seems to have taken up his father's former work as an insurance agent and married at Leiston in 1936, Blanche May Stokes (16 March 1911-24 February 1993) and in 1939 was living at 65 King George Avenue, Leiston with his wife Blanche. He exhibited at the Ipswich Art Club in 1942, two oils 'A Sunlit Glade' and 'Flower Study' and two in 1943 'Peonies' and 'Thomas Pockets (chrysanthemums)'. William George Walter Neale died at Ersanmine, Westward Ho, Leiston on 25 June 1985.
