Artbox was founded by Helen Murray and is based at The House on The Hill in Chediston, Halesworth, Suffolk. The studio, gallery and framing workshop are housed in converted farm buildings within moated grounds with a treehouse, roped walkways and outside seating for summer lunches. The gallery displays work by the Artboxers as well as exhibitions by other artists and offers refreshments to visitors. They also host fundraising events, and the Studio is fully equipped and all art materials for sessions are supplied by Artbox. The Framing Studio offers a wide range of services which helps raise funds for equipment and materials. Artbox is a not-for-profit organisation set up to provide daytime creative art workshops for adults with special needs in the Waveney area of Suffolk. The sessions are facilitated by artist Helen Murray and her team, and their aim is to encourage art as an activity beneficial to mental health and well-being and to enable opportunities for their artists, Artboxers, to make, exhibit and sell their work.
